I was originally excited by this concept, and would definitely buy one… That is IF it wasn't just more venture capital vaporware. Put this in the same category as the Moller SkyCar. (How long has that scammer been “just around the corner” from a breakthrough? Snicker, snicker…) I kinda feel sorry for the investors who are stupid enough to get ganked by these pipe dream peddling sociopaths. They probably also invested in Orbo free energy or EEStor battery technology.

A 20k two seater sports car that is electric and performs as describes sounds like a bargain. I could by this and drive it daily. We all can't afford a Tesla thats for sure. While three wheels may keep some away I think it will find its market.

I never really paid attention to the Vv forum, but I am very much in love with this car. It combines an awesome fuel economy (or range for the EV) and performance in a small commuter package. For a young, single engineer there could not possibly be a better car. And on top of that, it looks like it will be a blast to drive! The only decision I have to make is whether I get a hybrid or full electric version.

Well It appears that venture vehicles is quietly closing it’s shop. the founder ian bruce has closed his youtube account and has pulled videos of the venture1 from youtube. it seams that the promises that were made could not be kept.

A lot of members at the official Venture Vehicles forum are leaving because of the lack of updates and what appears to be a refusual of Venture Vehicles to respond or reply to any of the forum members who contacted Ventures about the apparent lack of progress of the venture1 and and like other forum members I don’t believe the V1 will ever see production .

As a former Harley and Suzuki owner I am now a proud scooter-owner (never thought that would happen), and am tired of the diminutive connotation extended towards the concept of scooting. It’s pretty awesome. I had always wished someone would make some sort of super-to-the-max scooting machine, which I see as Venture Vehicles having done, making the coolest thing I have ever seen in regards to transportation. I really have wanted some sort of scooter (I know it’s not a scooter) to become (against popular opinion) “glorified” and I would say VV has successfully done that… TO THE MAX!!!

Anyways, stop bitching at this guy who wrote this article, 20 Gs is a bit much to pay for small transportation, but you’re right, it is well worth it if they have done what they supposedly have done. I’ll buy one definitely. It’s the coolest car ever (and foreign oil, saving cash and all that jazz). But leave the bloody dude alone. Chill. Let’s all enjoy some pretty awesome scooting-to-the-absolute-max in a crazy fast little (but noticeable) supersonic flying-on-roads way. Out of the country now, but will buy one when it comes to Florida. Definitely. And I will say that I am “Scooting-to-the-Max!”

Maybe Matt Marshall knows something about Venture Vehicles that is not readily apparent from his article above. I’ve seen much of the peer EV competition. I’ve watched the Carver videos. It looks like a great vehicle, fun, well tuned, debatably safe. But a real capitalist must think beyond that, and at least do a little number crunching. The question is not, “Is the chance of this ever selling for $20,000 a long shot?” You might want one. But that doesn’t make the company a good investment. The real question is something more like, “What are the odds that after paying for employees, materials, tooling, utilities, other factory overhead expenses, advertising, administration, legal expenses, and executive pay, etc., … that the remaining profit per vehicle times the number of vehicles sold will pay off the debt hole that would be burned into the venture capital facility after a potentially long and drawn out R&D process is completed, before the niche market is saturated, such so that there is still enough of a market left over that we should now see (years in advance of course) that we as investors should be buying out insider shares from the VC firm?” So to sum it up, the above blog reads to me as CAR ENTHUSIASTS CLASH WITH SKEPTICAL INVESTMENT ANALYSTS. This is like the furor about the EV1. Those California fascist socialists should stop coveting the assets of companies like the poor and nearly bankrupt GM and repent from their hideous ways of over-regulation and government oppression of free markets.
