$1b in a year? USofA spends more than that on Iraq in a week. We have a LONG way to go if we're going to make the necessary changes. Efficiency is cool.

Matt:

Green and clean is in, for VCs, that is. I'm glad to hear greentech is going strong int he States, and I'm sure there's plenty of room to grow. I'm excited to think about the huge potentional for return on investments in green and clean overseas in China and India. Both countries have exploding energy demands, and terrible pollution problems. Thanks for cheerleading the need for VCs to invest in alternative fuel startups and businesses. You'll have lots of company in the near future! I cross-posted on your piece to http://blog.innovators-network.org The Innovators Network is a non-profit dedicated to bringing technology to startups, small businesses, non-profits, venture capitalists and intellectual property experts.
The atmospheric CO2 concentration is almost twice the consistent peak of the last 400K years (pre- industrial revolution).

Yeah, complete garbage. Right.

This entire "global warming" thing is complete garbage. Look at the long term record over hundreds of thousand of years. We're at a peak temperature for the last 20,000 years or so that based on the record will cycle to low temperatures. We're far more likely to freeze to death, then die from any minor impact from the "green house" effect. We should thank those that contribute to it as it might delay the deep freeze we are heading for.

The only thing I can't figure out is why scientists actually allow such short term trends to be used to predict what is going to happen. This year's hot summer is proof positive, right?

"...excepting President Bush..."?

get over it.

compare Al Gore sky high energy bills to Bush's Texas ranch: '...a President with a sustainable home that’s off-grid, features geothermal cooling and heating, passive solar, and a grey water system...'
