This wouldn’t hurt solar power at all. EEstor’s batteries could potentially store energy in such a way that makes solar much more feasible.

If the projected weight of the capacitor and results of dielectric breakdown tests are considered, this is a no brainer. An area of 1858 m^2 with 0.0003 inch of dielectric between 0.0001 sheets of nickel gives 52 KWH of energy storage after taking into account dielectric saturation where the saturated dielectric constant is 40% of the unsaturated constant.

Regarding EESTOR; I heard that they are going to satisfy military needs first and actual producion has already begun. One particular weapon that fits the EESTOR application is the plane mounted Laser system. The amount of energy that can be stored and released on call makes it a formidable weapon.
